Frequently asked questions (faq)
Joining the Programmme
I attend a grammar/private school - can I join the programme?
At the moment, In2MedSchool mentoring focusses on supporting Mentees from disadvantaged backgrounds who match our selection criteria. Unfortunately if you attend a grammar or private school, we are unable to offer you 1-1 mentoring however, you can still sign up to join - we will add you to our mailing list, and you will be able to sign up and attend our free events if you wish!
When will I receive the Zoom breakout room meeting link?
Once the Mentee and Mentor both complete the form with an agreed meeting date and time, the Zoom meeting links are usually sent out within the 24-hour window before your scheduled meeting to avoid the link getting lost in your mailbox. The forwarded link also includes instructions on how to join the meeting and what will happen on the day.
I am a bit worried about a video meeting with my Mentor - what should I do?
If you have any concerns about having a video call, remember to run this past your Mentor who will happily accommodate! You can try using the voice function only (just like a telephone call) or try to communicate through email. We will also aim to work with you to support you with making a video call if you are feeling anxious about it at any point - let your school lead or your Regional Lead know and we will happily assist you.
I am a staff member from a school interested in participating - where can I find out information relevant to the programme?
Please check out the Information for Schools section which collates relevant sections of our website to help you learn about the In2MedSchool programme, our Team and our policies and procedures.
